Housing and the Metro Housing Bond
The Housing Choices Task Force for the East Metro Economic Alliance will host its first event entitled, "Housing and the Housing Bond". This will be an in depth, roundtable discussion on the housing crisis in our area and some of the remedy being used to address it. We will have speakers on hand from Metro and Home Forward to discuss the Metro Bond, a speaker from Multnomah County to provide some background on the housing need, and a home builder to discuss the business of home building. Participants will be ale to interact, ask questions and help weigh in the the actions to be taken by the task force. Register today as this will be a very exciting event that will be informative and interactive.

About Councilor Craddick
Shirley served as lead Metro Councilor for the East Metro Connections plan, where she helped her district prioritize a set of transportation projects that will contribute to each jurisdiction's economic and community development goals. She will also be working on the continued development of the Intertwine, the region's integrated network of natural areas, parks and trails. In her capacity as Metro Councilor she serves on the Joint Policy Advisory Committee on Transportation (JPACT), the Oregon Zoo Foundation Board, Nature in Neighborhoods capital grants selection committee, the Travel Portland board, Levee Ready Columbia and several other committees. Craddick served as a Gresham city councilor from 2004 to 2010. She is a retired registered dietitian and health researcher, serving at Kaiser Permanente's Center for Health Research for almost 33 years. During her tenure she was involved in the design and implementation of multi-site behavioral clinical trials funded by the National Institutes of Health. She is an author and co-author of scientific articles and books regarding the relationship of diet and cardiovascular disease
About Justin Wood
Justin Wood is one of the owners of Fish Construction NW, Inc. He has been building infill housing in Portland for almost 20 years, specializing in first time buyer homes, utilizing City of Portland programs to encourage homeownership for families making less then the area median family income (MFI). He is currently on the Board for the National Association of Homebuilders, the Homebuilders Association of Metro Portland, as well as the incoming 2019 President for the Oregon Home Builders Association. Justin spent 4 years on staff as the Director of Government Affairs for the HBA of Metro Portland, working on housing issues with all the area jurisdictions as well as Metro. Currently he serves as the chair for the Portland Development Review Advisory Committee (DRAC).
